Tramp for the Lord - Seven Clouds of Joy - 12" Vinyl
SoCal music veteran Doug Cox was bassist for The Hangmen in their early Capitol Records days, where he played under the name Johnny Holliday. He also happens to write amazing songs and front Los Angeles-based outfit Tramp for the Lord.
Named Best Folk/Roots Group by LA Weekly, Tramp for the Lord meet at that rare intersection of a dusty Bakersfield trail and the grimy streets of Hollywood at dusk. It’s where desert-fried country-rock blends with moody garage folk and spaghetti Western-tinged balladry, creating an eerily cinematic backdrop for Cox’s world-weary voice crooning tales of lost love, alienation, dope-sick lovers and friends who died too soon.
SEVEN CLOUDS OF JOY is TFTL’s debut album and showcases the their loose, dusty storytelling and rootsy aesthetic, alternating between stark and majestic yet always hypnotizing.
12” vinyl - on the way from Poland so will be shipping out in mid May 2026
